Bill Parke
Bill Parke Appeared in the October 2004 issue of the OTTS newsletter. Bill has been metal detecting since 1966. Back then, the finding was a lot easier than today, although the detectors were just TR (transmitter-receiver), or the BF (beat frequency), no discrimination and very little depth. However, being a fairly new hobby, competition was scarce and the pickings were plentiful. Bill first joined the OTTS in the early '80's soon after the club was formed, when we met at Wolf Creek. After we moved to a new meeting place, Bill dropped out for a time but rejoined a few years ago. He is an ardent hunterm and is very careful to cover his "digs" and leave an area better than he found it. His best find is a 1913 $10.00 Indian Head gold coin. |
