Don Lieurance:

Appeared in the August 2004 issue of the OTTS newsletter.

Don just loves to metal detect. After many years of dealing in antiques, Don now travels a  lot to do some detecting.  Not a month goes that by he doesn't have some interesting and often valuable recoveries to enter into the find of the month.  Don started detecting in 1984, joined our club in 1985 when we still met in the far reaches of Washington County at Wolf Creek Lodge. He goes to England every year and comes back with many stories to tell and finds to share. Don said his best find was his wife of 45 years who is understanding enough to let him wander in search of "golden goodies". He said his best detecting find to date is a GOLD COIN-40 B.C. Celtic 1/4 Stater.  Another of Don's favorite hunting spots is the Tonopah dump in Nevada, visited by many treasure hunters and has produced some rare coins including gold.  Don will not be at the August meeting, as he will once again be hunting those fertile fields in England.
