August 2004
August's Club Member Outing by Tom Smith The August outing was at Laurelhurst Park and it was another beautiful morning to be out detecting. Laurelhurst Park has been hunted a lot over the years but some good stuff was still found. Mike Nanson found a 1911 V and 1936 Buffalo nickels, and a 1925-S Mercury dime. Chris Beniston found a really nice 14K gold ring and two Mercury dimes. Don Spillman found a Mercury and a Roosevelt silver dime and a silver Washington Quarter. Don Racey found a silver Roosevelt dime and Karen Pelletier found a very interesting sterling turtle ring. Mike Maxon had the coin of the day, an 1890 Seated Liberty dime, his first. Bill Parks donated a a very nice 2004 silver bullion dollar to the person who came closest to $1.71 in change and Karen Pelletier won it with $1.73. Dick Gaboury donated 5 Barber dimes for the 5 people with the least points. The membership attendance silver dollar drawing went to Don Racey.
