The
November outing was at Fernhill Park in Portland. There were 26 members
who counted out and 28 altogether came out to find some treasure.
The treasure this month was found by Mike Maxon. He scored with an 1879
2 ½ dollar gold coin in a gold bezel. Great find Mike!!! Other
good finds wre sterling rings found by Todd Mullican, Dick Gaboury, Robert
Zbinden, and Jack Hipp. Steve Tucker found a sterling earring. Only one
silver coin was found a 1943-D Mercury dime by Tom Smith.
Dick gave away two half-dollars to the detectorist closest to 59 or 121
points. They went to Clarence Sparks (54 points) and Mike Nanson (122
points). The membership attendance drawing went to Jim Cornwall who received
a very nice silver dollar.
