by Tom Smith The 25 members who came out for the outing at McKenna Park were all treated to a brief appearance by the sun during their detecting time.
Several people were lucky enough to find some sterling during the hunt. Jack Hipp and Jim Ward each found a sterling earring and Mike Young and Bob Kosto each found a sterling ring. Don Spillman was the lucky one for silver coins with 1957 and 1960-D quarters. Jim Siel also found a silver quarter, 1943-D. Mike Maloney found a 1947 Dime.
The membership drawing for a Morgan dollar went to Ron Rathbun. Dick Gaboury gave away 2 Walker half-dollars. The most trash half went to Don Spillman with over 120 pieces of trash dug up. The second half went to the person who dug up the most pennies which was Ed Slater with 66.
