February's Club Member Outing by Jim Cornwell
Sunday March 4, saw us gathered at Wallace Park on the west side of Portland. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and the finds matched the day. Some of the finds included Clarence Sparks with two silver rings, a gold ring apeice by Ron Rathburn and Harrold Cawthorn, a "V" nickel by Carl Middlebrook and even your editor found a heavy sterling silver ID bracelet weighing 1.7 ounces. Our group numbered over thirty and out of their finds they contributed to the "Penny Jar", aluminum can collection and the ever popular "pull tab" jar. The top hunter of the day was Clarence Sparks. The grape vine
tells us that next months hunt will be to an old productive area and will be hosted by our Vice Pres, Brian Lundquist.
Thanks to Dan Webb for hosting the February Outing.
