October's Club Member Outing by Dan Webb

Our October club hunt was at Leverich Park in Washington on Saturday the 27th. The weather
was great for the time of year! A little bit frosty in the morning followed by a sunny
afternoon and no wind! It was a tough hunt for the 24 members that counted out but some very
nice items were found. 1st place went to James Lyons, then following was 2nd - George Parker,
tied for 3rd - Eli Nicholson & Bill Baker and 4th place - Mike Mahoney. A few noteworthy
items found included a 1941 D dime by Dan Killian, 1942 S mercury dime and a silver cross for
Tom Smith, 1940 wheat penny, 1942 P mercury dime & a silver cross for Dick, 1961 D dime and
1940 S mercury dimes for Bill Parks, a silver ring for Bill Baker and another silver ring for
Dan Webb. In addition to the regular items, we awarded silver quarters to Dick Gaboury and
Bill Parks a tie of the oldest coins and a few silver dimes for the finding fishing sinkers
as the mystery item.
